Been to Hawaii, Fidji and California. Oh and 3 or 4 island in the Polynesia (most tourists visited way more islands than me xD).
I hate planes...it's so boring...yay for the 21 hours flight to Paris...
Starting to peel 2 days after going to the beach .

I have only flown once, wasn't a huge fan of it but I wouldn't not do it again.

starting flying at age 4--am 44 now, have flown just about every year since--round trips plus additional trips when I lived in japan (came home to see family etc)...not to mention visiting my mom in florida multiple times since I got back from japan....
I still hate flying and as I get older and older that hate only intensifies (and the stupid things the airlines are pulling doesnt make me ever want to fly again).
I have a really nice car, I can drive and there are tons of places in the USA still to see (and a bunch in Canada--havent been much to the eastern provinces---)
so pwnd--flying, you aint missin nothin'

Speaking of flying. Im going to San Diego this Tuesday.
I agree with the hate on airlines, however we all cannot own a private jet...yet . Flying is quite enjoyable for me, it is just a bummer that my legs are cramped in the seats.

legs, hips....and if you even try to cross them the guy in the seat in front of you will see how far it takes to break your knee caps. I really hate whomever designed those seats. and there is no way to put your feet up (I have 2 bad discs in my lower back sitting with my feet flat on the ground is just asking for a trip to the doctor for LOTS of traction.)
and the airports....take off your coat (ok) belts (yeah ok), empty your pockets (er...yeah guys make sure you keep your id jic someone STEALS your wallet before you make it back to that bin) shoes (ah I am not wearing socks and the floor is FILTHY!! so ok, you can waste my time and yours WANDING my feet ) am just waiting for the day they do strip searches.
AND you need to get to the airport like 3 hours before your flight, harassed while you are there, stuffed into tiny seats that only a pre-teen could find comfortable---and then on the other end you have to go and find your baggage carousel and PRAY your luggage decided to come with you----
if you trip was less than 3 hours ITS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.....
ooops sorry did it again....

Airport security is due to 9/11 as everyone knows. Blame the people who caused 9/11 for that stuff, not the airport or airliners. But even still, it is a inconvenience but it would be even more inconvenient to die due to a lack of security.
The only time I flew I was 10 or 11 so I was still small. So there was plenty of room for me then. Doubtful on that now.

unfortunately a LOT of what they have been doing is the closing the barn door after its burned down. (and they are still not very good at it---I flew with a guy from Nagoya who said he had had a scalpel in his carry on that NO one caught for 4 flights!)
and some airports are better than others....I used to fly from boise --ohare-- tampa. the metal detectors in boise would catch the belt I wore---had to go thru ohare--and the ones at ohare wouldnt even flinch.....tampa and st pete had some of the tightest secuirty (everyone had to have all their carryons checked--this only works in small airport with what only 10 flights a day????)

Hmm interesting that different metal detectors have different sensitivities... Think there would be a universal sensitivity for them all. Guess not.
Ya they are a bit late and need to still work on it.

I've had a passport since I was really really small.
Traveling can be lots of fun. Even the plane ride can be fun if you get along with the person sitting next to you.

I remember when i was 5-6 years old, i took the Fairy (sp?) alone, that was back then when people weren't so fu*ked up tight.
Now, you die if you take 1 step outside.
/end rant.
Well, travelling is fun, escpecially with a spouse or friends, but with friends only massive drinking travel is good!

yep road trips are pretty good......one of the trips we took when I was a kid (10 I think) ...it was me, my 2 sisters and my parents in an old Chrysler ('73 or '72 I believe..oh this was the year 1976) and starting in chicago we went to north carolina to see my oldest bro in grad school and then up the coast hitting all but Delaware (missed it for some reason).....though little to my parents amazement we also snuck 20 stuffed toy animals with us (remember 5 people in this car too)--one being a huge frog!
came home with another 5 or 6 as well (stopped thru canada for the olympic mascot--beaver too).
gotta renew my passport yet again (you know you are old when you remember the last 2 times you had to renew your passport--they last for 10 years).

I don't usually roadtrip with friends because I get so busy. Being the responsible one at home has its downsides... I usually get caught up in work around the house so I don't have time to go roadtripping.

You sound like you need to set aside a day to relax, Pwnd. No school, no work and no chores.
Just you.

lol Can the just me include my gf? Cause that would be relaxing. As for needing to relax more, that is probably true. Since as soon as I finished spring semester I started work and classes. Now I have a week off before I move back to school to start up fall semester. So we will see if I can achieve relaxation this week or not lol
